Backstory:

Twenty nine years ago, Lee Ann sold us our home in Lewes. She represented the seller and we first met her at the settlement table. She was very professional and thorough, making our purchase a pleasure.

About a year ago, I decided to sell a piece of land in Milton, DE. Owing to my first experience with her, Lee Ann was my obvious choice of agent. I chose well: she made everything very smooth. I got an offer within a month and after some negotiation, we settled without a hitch. Impeccable professionalism from Lee Ann and her team, again.

This past December:

Tragically, my wife had recently died. I was feeling anxious to make some big changes, including leaving the house and town we’d shared for so long. I contacted Lee Ann. We worked out a selling price and I decided to move forward using her as the exclusive agent.

She was receptive to my needs, offering insightful suggestions without pushing me to make any changes or concessions that I wasn’t comfortable with. She cared about me and my home, representing it in its best, honest light. Her commission options felt quite fair to me as the seller.

To their impressive credit, Lee Ann & her team found a buyer much faster than I had anticipated.

It was at that point that my stomach dropped, realizing I’d sadly made the mistake of selling too quickly. It used to be my wife and I making these large life decisions together, and it struck me that I’m not yet ready to leave this beautiful home and town of ours behind.

Not knowing what to do, I called Lee Ann. She showed incredible empathy then jumped directly into doing all she could to help me correct my error and keep my home (with neither a single moment of pressure nor frustration about losing her sale). Despite all I’ve already written, I simply haven’t words to express my appreciation for her monumental integrity and compassion.

I’m happily writing this review from my home, thanks to her. She found another property for the buyers and while I can’t speak for them, I watched her expertly balance meeting both their needs and mine. All while treating me, not like the source of what must have been a difficult challenge, but like a friend.

So, to whoever has read this far, I offer two pieces of advice…

1) If you’re considering living in Lewes (or Sussex County), do it. The same magic that captivated my wife & I so many years ago just kept me from the regret of leaving this place.

2) Choose Lee Ann, whether buying or selling. Finding someone this caring and ethical in any business is a rarity; she goes above and beyond to make a sale as fair and easy as possible for all parties involved.

I recently retired in Northern Virginia and decided to buy my retirement home in Lewes, DE. I wanted to move closer to the beach, my “happy place”. Lee Ann, Chris and Theresa are amazing and made our impromptu home purchase a true pleasure! This is our second experience with Lee Ann- once with buying, once with selling. Her assistance in both were above and beyond our expectations. First, Lee Ann has a deep understanding of the nuances of the southern Delaware market – this was invaluable, especially since initially we were out-of-state buyers. Second, her negotiation skills were top-notch and she was clearly well-respected by other in the real estate business, which gave us a nice edge. Lastly, she went the extra mile to make the contract and settlement process move forward (first rate photos and drone footage of the property, met with contractors and inspectors at the property to supervise, responded to inquiries quickly even when she was on vacation). Lee Ann really took care of us. She turned what could have been a stressful process into an enjoyable experience. . . twice!

We were considering a move to the Delaware coast a couple years ago. When our thoughts became a more serious consideration, we spoke to a former colleague of my husband who lived in Lewes. He recommended Lee Ann Wilkerson as a realtor. We called Lee Ann to schedule a meeting. When we had our meeting, her colleague, Turner Hastings also attended. She explained that Turner would be the one who would be showing us around. We were a little concerned because we thought we would be dealing with Lee Ann, but once we met Turner in person, our concerns disappeared. Turner was very attentive to our search, arranging to see homes we found and were interested in visiting. He also searched for others he thought we might want to see, giving us a picture of the local builders styles. When we decided to build, Turner was there to make suggestions during the process and offered support when our construction date kept being pushed back. He also acted as a liaison for us when we were having communication issues with our builder. He attended our home orientation and closing as well. While we felt confident the transfer of our home would be uneventful, it was really nice to have Turner with us all along the way, making a stressful time just a little less stressful. We definitely would recommend Turner and the Lee Ann group to anyone interested in a move to the Delaware coast.

I can not say enough wonderful things about LeeAnn and her team. We were selling my parents’ home and needed to arrange a leaseback. LeeAnn expertly navigated the offers and arranged the terms effortlessly. I am from CT and in CT both buyers and sellers use attorneys. In DE, the sellers do not have an attorney until closing so it is imperative that your realtor is well-versed in all aspects of the sale and keeps your interests aligned with the negotiations. Lee Ann does have a team and you do get passed off but I see this as a huge benefit. Every member of her team is organized and keeps the deal progressing. There was always someone to answer questions or calm nerves. I wish I could give her 1000 stars!!!!
