The Bayview Addition section of Lewes encompasses the downtown area around Rodaline Avenue, Schley Avenue and onto Gill's Neck Road past the railroad tracks towards Wolfe Pointe and Wolfe Runne neighborhoods. Just about the only time you will hear this section of downtown Lewes referred to as Bayview Addition is in the tax records or the MLS database. Most residents consider it in-town, but just outside the Historic District. In fact, the Lewes Historic District is bordered on one side by Rodaline Avenue - which is where Bayview Addition actually begins.
The entirety of Bayview Additions rests inside city limits and is served by the board of public works. It begins only about two blocks from the restaurants and downtown shopping and one block from city hall and the Lewes Police station.
