This weekend is the actual, official start of the Christmas Holiday Season in Lewes, Delaware - full of holiday festivities for the young, young-at-heart, and everyone in between.
Saturday DAYTIME: Get Your Holiday Spirit Started!
It looks like the perfect weekend for the Annual Soup Luncheon at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church on Second Street (from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.) - in conjunction with the 40th Annual Christmas Tour of Lewes homes (10 a.m. – 4 p.m.). After you’ve warmed yourself at St. Peter’s, venture out to tour festive homes around town, both traditional and contemporary, to jump-start your own holiday inspiration!
You can purchase tickets for the luncheon and tour, which is sponsored by Community Bank of Delaware, at the Ryves Holt House and Lewes Chamber of Commerce Office (on Kings Highway near the Zwannendael Museum). Tickets purchased the day of the tour are $25.00. Children under 12 are free when accompanied by an adult.
As you stroll through town or explore around Pilottown Road, please consider stopping into an open house at one of The Lee Ann Wilkinson Group’s premier listings. These two homes are quite different, showcasing the fact that we can likely find the home on YOUR wish list at the beach!
Open this Saturday, December 7, 12 -3 p.m.:
309 W. Third Street
Downtown Historic Lewes
35580 Peregrine Road
Saturday EVENING: Don’t Miss Santa!
For many, the “official” start of the holiday season in Lewes is a little later in the day at the 82nd Annual Lewes Christmas Parade. The parade kicks off at 5p.m. on Savannah Road at Sussex Drive and ends in front of King’s Ice Cream on Second Street. Cozy up to your friends and neighbors to cheer on the floats, musicians, and fantastic Lewes hook and ladder fire truck with its ‘special guest’…
Stay warm and dry this weekend!
